Meet the Doctors

    Dr. Bruce Lindsey
    Veterinarian

    Dr. Bruce Lindsey received his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the University of California, Davis School of Veterinary Medicine and has been practicing for more than 30 years in the San Diego area.

    He currently serves on the advisory committee for the UC Davis Veterinary School, San Diego Campus and has been a long term advisor to the UCSD Triton PreVet Club. He feels that one of his greatest contributions to veterinary medicine has been mentoring high school and college students who have gone on to become veterinarians. So far seventeen of his former students have graduated veterinary school. He is one of a group of five people who founded San Diego's own Project Wildlife and was one of its two original veterinarians.

    Upon arriving in San Diego, he started Nautilus Veterinary Clinic in La Jolla, which became WindanSea Vet Clinic, and practiced there until the Fall of 2011 when he left to begin a new practice.

    Dr. Lindsey practices personalized traditional veterinary care for local pets. He takes great pride in the special bonds he has forged with the families of this community and their four-legged family members.

    Affiliations and memberships: AVMA, CVMA, Life Member of San Diego County Veterinary Medical Association where he serves on the Executive Board.

    Dr. Donald Stremme
    Relief DVM

    Donald Stremme has 40 years experience in small animal and exotics practice, including 3

    decades in his own practice in Center City Philadelphia. Additionally he cared for the bats at the
    Franklin Institute, dolphins and sea lions at Six Flags Great Adventure and various circus animals
    at Barnum and Bailey. He works now as a relief veterinarian in small animal practices as well as
    in zoos and aquariums. He was the veterinarian for the Adventure Aquarium in Camden, NJ for
    18 years. He continues as the veterinarian for the Academy of Natural Sciences at Drexel
    University now for 3 decades.
    He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. in Zoology and received his V.M.D.
    from the University of Pennsylvania. During undergraduate school he spent a semester in
    Germany at the University of Cologne. During veterinary school he worked summers at the
    University of Hohenheim near Stuttgart, Germany. During his senior year at Penn, he spent two
    months at the Wilhelma Zoo in Stuttgart.
    He is a member of various professional organizations including the AVMA, EAAM, AZA, AAZV,
    ARAV, AAV, WAVMA, AAFV and IAAAM – of which he is past president. He enjoyed serving on
    the AVMA Committee on the Human Animal Bond and is now serving on theAVMA Clinical
    Practitioners Advisory Committee.
    Travel has always been an important part of his life. His experience of taking groups to Europe
    allowed him to combine travel and work by leading Eco-tours to South Africa and Ecuador,
    including the Galápagos islands. He was also sent to Palenque, Mexico to help design, furnish
    and set up an animal hospital and rehabilitation center there for rainforest animals.
    Never too old to learn, he was fortunate to lean a technique for ovariectomy of stingrays and
    performed several not long ago.
